And the new tribal member is a……
GIRL! We are amazingly going to blessed with another precious little girl!! Very excited here!
It was a very rough morning for me; personally. I was very much on edge over the ultrasound. My concern was not on the gender but on the overall health. It has been very odd this pregnancy. I expected to be anxious and on edge with Hannah but felt that I would relax and enjoy this one. I am struggling. I have shared it with the Lord and He has lovingly and graciously helped me through the really tough times. He has also blessed with me with some wonderful friends who are so understanding. And, of course, my blessing of an amazing hubby who understands sometimes I just need a good cry.
Back to the little one…..
The ultrasound is a family affair. All of the kiddos were excited to have their thoughts of a boy baby confirmed. Yep, they all wanted a boy baby. We had been praying for a healthy baby but they always added that a boy baby would be nice. Too sweet.
So we are all walking across the parking lot toward the medical office building. Lydia, my gorgeous redhead, asked if we were getting the baby out. I told her no that we were just going to see the baby to make sure he/she was ok and maybe find out if it is a boy or girl. She asked if we could tell if it would be a redheaded boy. She informed me that Caleb and she had discussed it; yes a boy baby could be redheaded. What a relieft as her daddy was a redhead, lol.
Our wait is amazingly short. We go right back for the ultrasound. George. That was the U/S tech’s name. He was also the tech we saw with Hannah. I don’t think he remembered us. All the kiddos were super quiet. Shhhhhh………. We get all the measurements done. Ah there is that precious little foot! Look at those fingers! Oh, the face; see those eyes and look a smile! What a blessing to be able to see that little one squirming around. Amazing. It is a miracle each and every time. Every precious second this little life grows is a miracle. I am so blessed to be made woman and carry this little one inside of me.
We finally get a good shot to tell the gender. We do not need George to tell us. It is evident. A girl!!!!! I looked at Eddie. Poor guy. Now he will have 5 girls. His poor little heart. He is mush with those girls. The thought of one day walking them down the aisle does him in. Such a great daddy.
Caleb is sitting next to Eddie and you can see his face just drop. He looks at Eddie and says, “I wanted a boy.” Quitely. Simply. The acknowledgement that he is still the lone son; caught in the middle of all these girls. He handled it well. The girls seem to handle it fine. Ok , a girl. Now on to names…..
Yes, no name! We had no problem agreeing on a name for a boy. But a girl name. Oh my. We are struggling. Names I love; he says no. This should be great fun!!! I can’t wait until God shows the perfect name for this little one!! (any suggestions on names would be great; Bible names is our pattern)
Later in the day, Eddie, Caleb and I were outside sitting under the “climbing tree” chatting. Eddie started talking to Caleb about how he felt about a new sister. His response revealed so much. He said, “I can’t protect all these girls.” Awwwwww…. Poor fellow.
We are trying to teach him that his job is to help protect his sister and to take care of them like daddy does. I guess 4 was more than enough and he was praying for back-up. I’m sure he can handle it. He is a great guy. He is like his daddy. He will be mush when Little One comes home. I have precious pictures of him and Hannah. I can’t wait to add more!!!

Oh my goodness…what a sweetheart your Caleb is!!! I’m excited for the news of s sweet, healthy little Tribette!
This morning after we talked I told my Tommy what Caleb said and he thought it was the sweetest thing ever.
Help us Hannah… I cried. What a man you have!! What a little man. I hope you wrote that down in his baby book. AND — CONGRATULATIONS ON ANOTHER GIRL!!
