I completely forgot to share what I read for the Summer’s Flying By Reading Challenge hosted at Simply Audra Maria.
So here’s a quick re-cap of the books I read from August 1 – September 21:
In August I traveled to the 1800’s and dived into the Cholera Epidemic and surprisingly enjoyed a non-fiction read: The Ghost Map. A young adult biography, The Bronte’ Sisters, was another non-fiction read that stayed by my bed for my night time reading. It was fun stepping out of reading comfort zone for these two books. I also read Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
The Penderwicks of Gardem Street and The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom were two selections I read aloud to my children.
September brought a Harry Potter reading frenzy as I finished up the series with: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I also enjoyed The Great Trouble which is a children’ fiction novel based on the cholera epidemic.
Unfortunately, I didn’t keep as good of a list of the picture I read to my younger ones. Shame on me!! I also feel like I am forgetting other books I have read!! Maybe my mind is caught up in my current reads. Who knows?
I really enjoyed the summer reading challenge. Now I think grab a snack and a book!
