May has arrived and I’m just a tad late on sharing what my selections will be to read from the Newbery Winners and Honors. So many great choices! Since my reading time is limited, I need to set a reasonable goal, right?
Jennifer, Hecate, Macbeth, William McKinley, and Me, Elizabeth by E. L. Konigsburg is my first selection. It is already on my beside table. Last month I read The View From Saturday by Konigsburg and I absolutely loved it. I am hopeful that this will be another excellent read.
The Animal Family by Randall Jarrell is sitting on my shelf and waiting for me. This Newbery Honor- 1966 caught my eye because it seemed that it might be one a couple of my children would enjoy. After I read it, I’m sure I’ll pass it along.
As a read aloud, we have already begun Rascal: A Memoir of a Better Era by Sterling North. We do have a bit of a head start on this one. So far the children and I are enjoying it. I think the younger children are missing some aspects of the story but still enjoyable! We should finish it up in a few days.
I have no plans for any other books right now. As the month progresses, we shall see how much time I actual have for reading. My stack of reading is quite high.
