My Best Reads for Young Adult/ Adult 2015

I accomplished a good bit of reading this year. Here are my top picks for Young Adult/Adult books:

* Code Name Verity (Elizabeth Wein)

* Black Dove White Raven (Elizabeth Wein)

* 84 Charing Cross Road (Helene Hanff)

* Evidence Not Seen – (Darlene Deibler)

* Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Alan Bradley) and the other Flavia de Luce books. What began as just an enjoyable mystery has become much more. I do so love dear Flavia.

Master Plan for Rescue – (Janis Cooke Newman)

* All the Light We Cannot See – (Anthony Doerr)  This selection, I think, is my top adult read. Such beautiful writing…beautiful and bittersweet. If you have not read this, do put it on your to read list.

* Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics –  Daniel James Brown   Another excellent read. Amazing glimpse at character and determination in a group of young men. Worthy read, indeed.

  1. Thanks for making these reading lists, Sharon. I have pinned them all so I can refer back to them. I especially appreciate the YA list as I am always on the lookout for quality reading material for my teens, and I can’t read fast enough to keep ahead of them. Your lists help me fill in that gap.
